Coming to America: Who Should We Welcome, What Should We Do?
March 18 @ 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm
The Oconee County Progressives are hosting a forum Coming to America: Who Should We Welcome, What Should We Do? on Sunday, March 18, 2018 from 3:00 pm until 5:00 pm at the Oconee County Library, 1080 Experiment Station Road, Watkinsville. This forum will provide participants the opportunity to join together with individuals with various points of view in a positive, structured deliberation about the issue of immigration. Participants will consider the various options for addressing immigration in the United States, share their views, and weigh the costs and benefits of possible actions.
This forum is conducted in coordination with the Kettering Foundation and the National Issues Forums Institute and is just one of many such forums that will be conducted throughout the United States. A report of the deliberations in Watkinsville will be combined with the reports from other forum sites to support the work of the Kettering Foundation to educate and collaborate with policymakers and to ensure a true, robust democracy, informed by citizens working together to address common problems.
All individuals, including teenagers, who have an interest in the immigration issue and wish to discuss the issue in a positive and productive manner are encouraged to attend. Free and open to the public. For more information, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org. (edited)
