Athens-Clarke County December 1 Runoff - District Attorney - Deborah Gonzalez

December 1 Runoff – District Attorney

Athens-Clarke County & Oconee County voters will go to the polls on December 1 to elect our next District Attorney in a runoff election (this election is separate from the January 5th US Senate runoff election). The Athens-Clarke County Democratic Committee is excited to have our candidate be former GA State Representative Deborah Gonzalez!

Anyone can vote in this election, even if you did not vote in November. Here is the information you need to know to cast your ballot for Deborah Gonzalez for District Attorney in the December 1 Runoff Election:

– Advance In-Person voting!

(ACCDC recommends Advance In-Person voting for the December 1 Runoff!)

– Absentee Voting!

(DUE TO THE TIME LIMITATIONS, ACCDC STRONGLY ENCOURAGES YOU TO VOTE EARLY IN PERSON IF POSSIBLE, OR AT LEAST BE PREPARED TO VOTE IN PERSON AS A BACKUP IN CASE YOU DO NOT HAVE ENOUGH TIME TO REQUEST/RECEIVE/SEND YOUR BALLOT)

For the December 1 Runoff, Absentee Ballots must be requested to the ACC Board of Elections office by filling out a request form, taking a picture of it (or scanning it) and emailing the image of the request form to paula.williams@accgov.com . You can also drop off, mail, or fax your request, more info on those methods here. All requests for Absentee Ballots must be received by Wednesday, November 25 at 5pm.

** If you choose to vote by absentee ballot, please note that the December 1 election is a special election. Because of this, you must request an absentee ballot, even if you applied for absentee ballots for the entire year**

Your ballot must be RECEIVED by the Board of Election before 7pm on Tuesday, December 1. It can be received in one of these ways:

  • Received via mail
  • Dropped off in one of the following 6 secure ballot drop-off boxes:
    • Athens-Clarke County Elections Office – 155 E Washington st
    • Athens-Clarke County Library – 2025 Baxter Street
    • Athens-Clarke County Multimodal Transportation Center – 775 E Broad Street
    • Fire Station #7 – 2350 Barnett Shoals Road
    • ACC Extension – 275 Cleveland Road
    • Winterville City Hall – 125 S. Church Street

If you are unsure if your ballot has enough time to mailed, please use a ballot drop off box or vote in person on election day.
Have you already sent your ballot in? Check here to see if it was received.

– Election Day, December 1!

On Election Day you must vote at your assigned precinct (you can find that here if you are unsure).
Did you request an Absentee Ballot but need to vote in person? You can! Bring your ballot with you to surrender, if you have it…but you do not have to have it.
